Project Title: Hand Washing in the NICU

Context: The (fictional) hospital sought to create a training program to educate visitors on proper hand hygiene procedures. This ILT was designed as a pre-entry requirement for NICU visitors, helping to ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and protect infant patients.

Challenges: After discussions with managers and staff, 651 Hospitals identified a 30% increase in illnesses being transmitted in the NICU, largely attributed to outside visitors. At the time, there was no formal training or educational materials in place to guide visitors on proper infection prevention protocols prior to entering the unit.

Solution: After conducing needs analysis and meeting with SME's, I designed and developed this ILT for proper hand washing in the NICU.

Results: There was a 10% decrease in illnesses being spread from outside visitors in the NICU. 85% of NICU visitors reported an increased understanding of the proper hand washing steps.
